5N3dUTP Substitutes for thymidine in the synthesis of photoactive DNA and 5N3UTP UTP in the synthesis of photoactive RNA (see Photoactive DNA and RNA).  The radioactive label can be attached by using [a32P]ATP, [a32P]GTP or [a32P]CTP.   Additionally 8N3ATP and 8N3GTP can be used to produce photoactive RNA.
